St Pauls Taste & See

Arriving early Saturday Morning, St Paul's Taste & See, picked a spot in the what would be the sun as the morning progressed.  St Paul's would take the Title for best ribs and overall 2nd Place.  Ribs were the highest scoring category that day with a possible 50 Points as a perfect score. St Paul's ribs placed 1st with 47.2, just .3 ahead of the overall winner

The Host Team.... The Grace Grillers

The Grace Grillers put up an impressive show keeping within just a couple of decimal points out of overall first place.  Their chicken proved to be the judges favorite. An obvious contender next year, the other team will have to kick it up a notch when it comes to chicken. Some say it was a home field advantage, since nobody else had a brick BBQ to work with. 

Home Depot Supplies the Big raffle Prize

The Home Depot's Girvin Road Store 6365 supplied a Smoker Grill for people to buy raffle tickets which went anywhere from $2 per single Ticket to a $1 a ticket, for those willing to buy $20 worth.  Daryl Siewert spent a couple of hours Saturday morning assembling the grill.

In The Beginning

It began at 6:00 AM, Saturday August 25th, 2012.....

Actually it began 8:00 PM May 25th, 2012 an idea! Which caught the imaginations of the J(acksonville). O(utreach). C(ouncil).  So began the beginnings of the 1st Annual Jacksonville Circuit BBQ Cook-off, which brings us back to... It began at 6:00 AM, Saturday August 25th, 2012.  BBQ teams from Grace Lutheran (who hosted the event), St Pauls Lutheran and Bethlehem Lutheran; gathered before the sunrise to fire up their grills and smokers.  Once their meat was inspected it was seasoned, rubbed and laid on the grill to cook.
